Just weeks after Apple released its new golden plated iPhone 5s, Samsung decided to release a very similar phone with their Galaxy S4 line of smartphones. No, this is not a joke – but it sure seems like Samsung hasn’t let go of their golden feud with Apple. (See what I did there?)

The new Golden Samsung S4 is now available in yellow, white, and rose gold.

As described:

“This customised rimmed Samsung S4 available in gold, rose gold or platinum makes a beautiful phone look even more desirable. The NEW S4 has an AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution. Measuring 4.99in across ideal for watching movies, playing video games and surfing the internet. With 7.9 inch display, powerful quad core processor that enables it to work, this amazing smartphone can even be used as a remote control and has a very handy micro SD car slot for increased storage.”

Fancy, innit!?

And if Samsung or Apple are just not your thing, and you’re a rebel hipster, then there’s a golden phone for you too. Enter the Nokia Oro!

This too, is not a joke. Running OS Symbian^3 and weighing only .29 lbs, the Nokia Oro first became available in 2011 in White / Gold and Black / Gold. How ever did we miss this golden-plated phone in the first place?

Promotions for the Galaxy S4 gold started earlier this week with Samsung Arabia tweeting its availability. The retweets hit an all time high, along with Nokia UK’s earlier tweet thanking Apple for “copying” their colorful line of phones. Will this silly feud ever stop? I kind of hope not – it is wildly entertaining, and needless to say, a great marketing ploy.

If you’re looking forward to getting a hand on any of the golden phones, unfortunately, they’re already sold out. Long live the 1%!

And that’s that kids – golden is the new black.
